It’s 1973, and Houston’s Astrodome is playing host to one of the biggest pop cultural events of all time as Billie Jean King and Bobby Riggs face-off in 'The Battle of the Sexes' tennis match! Co-written by Tony award nominee Bryony Lavery and Edinburgh Stage award winner Kevin Armento, Balls embraces OYL’s high-intensity physical groove and features a shot-by-shot re-imagining of the entire match, in a carnival-like atmosphere! 07.11.17My Fair Lady EXTENDS at Olney Theatre Center

My Fair Lady at Olney Theatre Center is a hit! Tickets are now on sale through 8/6/2017

05.22.17My Fair Lady at Olney Theater Center

Danny will be starring as Professor Henry Higgins in Alan Souza's revisionist production. The revisionist production features non-traditional casting and is set 10 years later in the modern era (after women had the right to vote).

"In the lean, generally fetching, mildly nontraditional “My Fair Lady" now at Olney Theatre Center, the power struggle between Higgins and Eliza occasionally displays a startling erotic edge. That’s the case in part because director Alan Souza has given us a Higgins with the looks, and often the presence, of a matinee idol. Higgins may claim to be a “confirmed old bachelor," but as portrayed by Danny Bernardy, he’s certainly not very old. And in moments like the lead-up to the musical number “The Rain in Spain," you have to wonder whether this world-renowned phonetics expert isn’t a philanderer waiting to happen.

Fear not: Higgins is still a domineering, egotistical male chauvinist with lacerating verbal flair and the willingness to trample over other people’s feelings. So we still get the full intensity of the showdown immortalized in “My Fair Lady," by book writer/lyricist Alan Jay Lerner and composer Frederick Loewe. This production benefits from the dynamism and singing prowess of Brittany Campbell as Eliza, the Covent Garden flower seller who learns elite pronunciation under Higgins’s tutelage. 10.11.10Danny to appear in Staged Reading of Lindsay-Abaire's, "FUDDY MEERS"--location updated

Playwrights' Horizons
416 W 42nd St

refreshments served

From the One Year Lease Website:

Fuddy Meers is a deliciously dark comedy about an amnesiac named Claire, who is about to experience a day unlike any she’s ever lived (not that she can remember them!).

One of the many scripts we read during our Papingo residency this summer, Fuddy Meers appealed to all of our theatrical sensibilities: strong ensemble nature, a little dark and twisted, a dash of warped realism, and funny as hell. The script doesn’t exactly fit with the company’s mission (making new productions inspired by ancient myths)…but we had so much fun with the piece that we thought – why not use it to showcase our ensemble?

We are cooking up two amazing projects for Spring 2011 but why wait so long to see the OYL ensemble at work? Come on out! It is free and there will be refreshments!

Come and see:
Sarah-Jane Casey as Claire: “a generally sunny woman with amnesia"
Bjorn Dupaty as Richard: “a chatty, friendly, sometimes nervous, man"
Danny Bernardy as Kenny: “a troubled teen"
Nick Flint as Limping Man: “a lisping, limping, half-blind, half-deaf man with secrets"
Sameerah Luqmaan-Harrisas Gertie: “a clear-headed lady who's had a stroke and can't speak properly"
Babis Gousias as Millet:“an odd man with a puppet"

Featuring a special guest appearance from:
Gioia Marchese of Company XIV as Heidi: “a tough woman in uniform"

(character descriptions by Lindsay-Abaire)
